Question:

5 to the 6th power divided by 5 to the 12th power.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Answer:
5^6/5^12 = 5^(6-12)

This is because we have the law in exponets, x^m/x^n = x^ ( m-n)

==> 5^6/5^12 = 5^(6-12)
= 5^ -6
= 1/5^6 because, x^-n = 1/x^n

Hope you understood the problem.
