You can put this solution on YOUR website!
QUESTION:
0.5x - 0.5 - 0.05 = 0.55

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ANSWER:

0.5x - 0.5 - 0.05 = 0.55

Add 0.05 to both sides of the expression

==>0.5x - 0.5 - 0.05 + 0.05 = 0.55 + 0.05

==>0.5x - 0.5 = 0.6

Add 0.05 to both sides of the expression

==>0.5x - 0.5 + 0.05 = 0.6 + 0.05

==>0.5x = 0.65

Divide both sides by 0.5

==>0.5x/0.5 = 0.65/0.5

==> x = 0.65/0.5

Now simplify 0.65/0.5

For that multiply both the numerator and denominator with 10( This is because the denominator contains one decimal place. If there is two decimal places, you should multiply it with 100 and so on. Does not matter the decimal places in the numerator.)

==> x = 0.65*10 /0.5 * 10

==> x = 6.5/5

==> x = 1.3

Hope you understood the step.
Regards.
