-5x%3C=x-4-8 Subtract 8 from both sides.


-5x-x%3C=-4-8 Subtract x from both sides.


-6x%3C=-4-8 Combine like terms on the left side.


-6x%3C=-12 Combine like terms on the right side.


x%3E=%28-12%29%2F%28-6%29 Divide both sides by -6 to isolate x. note: Remember, the inequality sign flips when we divide both sides by a negative number.


x%3E=2 Reduce.
