60% gain on (1/2) of them: 1.60*(2x) = 3.2x - 2x = 1.2x
20% gain on (1/4) of them: 1.2*x = 1.2x - x = 0.2x

Total gain percent: 1.4x/4x = 1.4/4 = 0.35 = 35%
