Solve by ordinary means. Note: It factors. The only fly in the ointment is that by squaring both sides in the first step you may have introduced extraneous roots. So check both of the roots to the quadratic back through the original equation. If you evaluate the original equation and get a false statement, then discard the extraneous root. Hint: One of these roots is good, and the other is bad.
