Question 627938: A thief escaped from police custody. Since he was a sprinter, he could run at a speed of 40 kmph. The police realised it after 3 hrs and started chasing him at 50 kmph. The police had a dog which could run at a speed of 60 kmph. The dog would run to the thief and return back to the police and then would turn back towards the thief.
It kept on doing so till the police caught the thief. Find the distance travelled by the dog in the direction of the thief. Answer by richwmiller(17219) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! A sprinter can't last 3 hours at 40 kmph
and the dog is not going to run at 60 kmph for 6 hours to catch up either.
