SOLUTION: I was trying to define the properties of the conic section of 225x^2 − 1800x + 64y^2 + 384y = −3776
and I completed the square to get to this stage 225(x-4)^2 + 64(y+3

Question 627623: I was trying to define the properties of the conic section of 225x^2 − 1800x + 64y^2 + 384y = −3776
and I completed the square to get to this stage 225(x-4)^2 + 64(y+3)^2= 400. I divided by 400 to get it into the standard form of a ellipse but 225 and 64 aren't divisable by 400 evenly and I got decimals . I can't figure out how to put it into the standard form of an ellipse and then find the foci. my text book says the foci are 4,-3plus or minus 1\6√161 THANKS! Answer by ewatrrr(24785) (Show Source):
