You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Substitute x= 2000 and x=5000 into the profit equation to solve the first two.
Part a)P(x) = 2.25*2000 – 7000 = -$2500 ie a loss of $2500
Part b)P(x) = 2.25*5000 – 7000 = $4250
Part c) The break even point has a profit of 0.
0 = 2.25*x – 7000 Add 7000 to each side
7000 = 2.25*x – 7000 + 7000
7000 = 2.25*x Divide each side by 2.25
x = 3111 Units
(Actually 3111 units makes a 25 cent loss and 3112 units makes a $2 profit)
