Question 62728: For each inequality question solve, graph the set & write interval notation
Q1. 0.3 < 0.2x - 0.9 < 1.5
Q2. |-4| - (-4) + |-20|
Q3. 5x-8 < 2 (2+x) < -2 (1+2x)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Q1. 0.3 < 0.2x - 0.9 < 1.5
Add 0.9 along the line to get:
1.2<0.2x<2.4
Divide by 0.2 along the line to get:
6 (6,12
-----------------
Q2. |-4| - (-4) + |-20|
=4 +4 + 20
= 28
----------
Q3. 5x-8 < 2 (2+x) < -2 (1+2x)
5x-8 < 4+2x <-2-4x
Subtract 2x along the line to get:
3x-8 < 4 <-2-6x
Separate into two inequalities:
3x-8<4
3x<12
x<4
-------
4<-2-6x
6x<-6
x<-1
-------
To meet both of these conditions
x must be less than -1.
Interval notation: (-inf,-1)
----------
