x%5E%28-3%29+=+1%2F8 Convert to exponential form


x%5E%28-3%29+=+2%5E%28-3%29 Rewrite 1%2F8 as 2%5E%28-3%29


Since the exponents are equal, the bases must be equal


So x=2 is the solution.
