Question 626062: Addition of Polynomials
Problem:
(5n^3-n^2+4n+11) + (2n^3- 4n^2 +n -11)

Your Solution:

How d0 you check it:

Here is what I did: Is it correct? If it is not, Can you explain where or what I did wrong, and also how do you check it correctly?
(5n^3-n^2+4n+11)+ (2n^3 -4n^2 +n- 11)
5n^3 -n^2 +4n+11+2n^3 -4n^2+n-11
7n^3-5n^2 +5n

Thanks....
Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Your answer is correct!! Good work!!

The best way to check your work is to choose a value for n. I find that the smallest values > 0 are usually best. Sometimes you can try 2 values, e.g. 1 and 2.

You'd plug each value into the original expression, as well as your answer. Both end-results should be the same. In other words, if you plug 1 into the original expression, and get a value for the expression, when you plug 1 into your answer ( ), both values should be the same.
