Question 625871: Hello, I am having issues with this problem...I understand that I have to square both sides and cancel like terms, but I am stuck figuring out the expansion in the latter steps. PLEASE HELP!
Given the coordinates A(3, 3) and b(6, 7) are vertices of an equilateral triangle: Find the third vertex algebraically.
Thank you so much! Happy 4th! Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Hint: Find the distance from A to B. Call this distance 'r'.
Then construct a circle with center A (3,3) that has a radius r.
Then construct another circle with center B(6,7) with radius r.
The two circles will intersect at two points. Pick either point and call it C.
This will give you an equilateral triangle ABC.
