I'm assuming that the exponent here is x+1

3e^(x+1)=5

e^(x+1)=5/3

x+1 = ln(5/3)

x = ln(5/3) - 1 <<<-------- Exact Answer

x = -0.48917 <<<-------- Approximate Answer
