You can
put this solution on YOUR website!
Evaluate the indicated function, where
f(x) = x2 − 3x + 2 and g(x) = 9x − 9.
(f-g)(x) = (x^2 − 3x + 2) - (9x − 9)
(f-g)(x) = (x^2 − 3x + 2) - 9x + 9
(f-g)(x) = x^2 − 3x + 2 - 9x + 9
(f-g)(x) = x^2 − 12x + 2 + 9
(f-g)(x) = x^2 − 12x + 11
.
So:
(f − g)(−8)= 8^2 − 12(8) + 11
(f − g)(−8)= 64 − 96 + 11
(f − g)(−8)= -32 + 11
(f − g)(−8)= -21
