5n + 12=2n
Subtract 2n from both sides; Subtract 12 from both sides.
3n=-12
Divide both sides by 3 to get:
n=-4

6(x+3)+3x=3(x-2)
6x+18+3x=3x-6
9x+18=3x-6
6x=-24
x=-4

5n-2n=-12
3n=-12
n=-12/3
n=-4

5*-4+12=2*-4
-20+12=-8
-8=-8

6x + 18 + 3x = 3x - 6 collect like terms
9x + 18 = 3x - 6 subtract 3x from each side
6x + 18 = -6 subtract 18 from each side
6x = -24 divide each side by 6
