You can put this solution on YOUR website! how to solve each system by substitution:
E1: y = 2x - 8
E2: 4x + 3y = 1
Substitute the 2x-8 from E1 into E2 in place of y and solve for x.
:
4x+3(2x-8)=1
4x+6x-24=1
10x-24=1
10x-24+24=1+24
10x=25
10x/10=25/10
x=5/2 or 2.5
:
Now substitute 5/2 in for x in E1 and solve for y.
y=2(5/2)-8
y=5-8
y=-3
The solution (x,y)=(5/2,-3)
Happy Calculating!!!
