You can put this solution on YOUR website! The husband gets = 3n
The son gets = n
(3n + n) = $20,000
3n + n = 4n
4n = $20,000
Divide each side by 4
4n/n = $20,000/4
n = $5,000
3n = $5,000 * 3 = $15,000
Therefore:
The husband gets $15,000
The son gets $5,000
