  • denominators
  • radicands ("Radicand" is the name for the expression inside a radical.)
  • exponents
  • arguments to functions (like log, ln, sin, cos, etc.)
Whn in doubt, use parentheses. It is nearly impossible to use too many parentheses.

Problems that are clearly expressed will get faster responses from the tutors.
