Question 619802: I need some help with this question please.
I would appreciate some hints. Thank you.
You are applying for a job at two companies. Company A offers salaries with μ = $53,000 and σ = $4,000 and company B offers salaries with μ = $53,000 and σ = $2, 000. Which company is most likely to offer a starting salary more than $58, 000?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Both companies have the same mean starting salary. Company one has a standard deviation that is twice as large as company 2. So company one has a wider normal distribution.
Thus, company one will have more starting salaries above 58000 since its 'bell curve' is wider.
