Hi,
The sum of 3 times a numberhighlight%28x%29 and twice another numberhighlight%28x%29is 120.
Twice the first numberhighlight%28x%29plus 4 times other numberhighlight%28y%29is 64.
3x +2y = 120
2x +4y = 64
The sum of 2 numbers is 64 and 3 times the difference is 30.
x + y = 64
3x-3y = 30
3x + 3y = 192 |multiplying 1st EQ thru by 3 to eliminate the y variable
3x -3y = 30
6x = 222
x = 37 and y = 27
