Hi,
A father is NOW 5 times as old as his son...highlight%28x%29yrs old NOW .
In 18 years, the father will be twice as old as his son.
5x + 18 = 2(x+18)
3x = 18
x = 6yr, son's age NOW. Father is 30 years old at the present.
