subtracting 2 ___ 15x^2 - x - 2 = 0

factoring ___ (5x - 2)(3x + 1) = 0

5x - 2 = 0 ___ x = 2/5

3x + 1 = 0 ___ x = -1/3

Get 0 on the right by adding -2 to both sides

    15x² - x - 2 = 0

Factor the left side:

(5x - 2)(3x + 1) = 0

Use the zero factor property:

5x - 2 = 0;  3x + 1 = 0
    5x = 2;      3x = -1
     x = 2%2F5;       x = -1%2F3
