Question 617723: Could someone please help me with this one?
If 3n - 5n - 24 = 8, then n = Found 2 solutions by blwinbbbles, MathStudent15:Answer by blwinbbbles(106) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 3n - 5n - 24 = 8
First combine the like terms...so 3n - 5n = -2n
so now you have
-2n - 24 = 8
add 24 to both sides
-2n = 32
divide both sides by -2
n = -16
so your answer is n = -16
to check put -16 back into the equation..so you have
3(-16) - 5(-16) - 24 = 8
-48 + 80 - 24 = 8
32 - 24 = 8
8 = 8
so the answer is correct
You can put this solution on YOUR website! To solve for n, you would solve this like a regular equation.
First, I would combine the like terms (the n's)
Then add 24 to both sides. and you would have solved for n.
Hope I helped!!
