You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The ratio of seniors to juniors was 6 to 13. If there were 380 in all, how many were seniors ?
---
6 to 13 is the same as 6x to 13x where 6x is the number of seniors
and 13x is the number of juniors.
Equation: 6x + 13x = 380
19x = 380
x = 20
---------------
# of seniors = 6x = 120
# of juniors = 13x = 260
