Question 613628: The probabilities that 2 band students show up for practice are .6 and .8. Find the probability that at least one does not show up for band practice.

[On this one, I can figure the probability that both show up, which is .92=(.6+.8)-(.6*.8), but I cannot seem to figure out if at least one does not show up. Your detailed explination is greatly appreciated!]
Thanking you in advance, Diane

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the probability that they both show up is .48 (.6 * .8)

the probability that at least one of them does not show up is ___ 1 - .48

at least one not showing up is every possibility EXCEPT both showing up
