Let x and (37-x) represent the number of $5 and $1 bills respectively

Question states***total of the bills is $141.00

  5x + (37-x) = 141

     4x = 104

      x = 26, number of $5 bills.  There are 11 $1 bills



 $5*26 + $11 = $141
