Question 611392: How do you make a table for this equation y=5x-3 x=number of kilometers. y=amount pledged in dollars. x numbers are -5,-3,-1,0,1,3,5 Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
In the first (upper left) cell of your table put . In the upper right cell put .
In the second row, first column, put the number -5. Then replace in the equation with -5 and do the arithmetic to calculate the value of when . Write this value into the second row, second column.
Repeat the above step for each of the other numbers, going down the table to a new empty row each time.
Then go back and cross out the rows for the negative values of since walking (running? jogging? bicycling?) backwards and then having to pay the people who signed up to sponsor you is just a completely stupid idea.
