Jill can paint a fench in eight hours. Stefan can paint the same fence in ten hours. How long would it take them if they worked together?
--------
Jill rate: 1/8 job/hr
Stef rate: 1/10 job/hr
---
Together rate: 1/x job/hr
----
Equation:
rate + rate = together rate
1/8 + 1/10 = 1/x
10x + 8x = 80
18x = 80
x = 4.44 hrs = 4 hr 27 minutes
