Using the Excel Data Analysis Tool:

Before: 40 38 45 18 25 41      || m = 34.5 and SD = 10.56

 After: 48 40 45 42 45 60      || m = 46.7  and SD = 7.09

 degrees of Freedom = (6+6)-2= 10 ... t = 2.3495, 5% significance level...

 YES,we can conclude that there is significant improvement in marks after special classes.
