You can put this solution on YOUR website!
one number exceeds another by 5. if the larger is increased by 5 and the smaller is decreased by 8, the larger will be 12 less than twice the smaller. find the original. with solution please.
**
let x=smaller number
x+5=larger number
increase larger number by 5=x+5+5
Twice the smaller decreased by 8=2(x-8)
x+5+5-12=2(x-8)
x-2=2x-16
x=14
x+5=19
ans
smaller number=14
larger number=19
