60 min = 1 hr

1 min = 1/60 hr

48*1 min = 48*(1/60) hr

48 min = 48/60 hr

48 min = 4/5 hr

32 = r*(4/5)

32*5 = r*4

160 = 4r

160/4 = r

40 = r

r = 40


So your avg speed was 40 mph
