No-Shrink company charges $4.50 per shirt.

for what number 'n' of T-shirts is the cost for both companies equal?

 $49 + $1·n = $4.50n

    49 = 3.50n

   49/3.5 = n

     14 = n, number of T-shirts where the cost is equal for both companies 

If n<14, then No-shrink is a better buy

for ex: 10 shirts

$49 + $1·10 = $59.00

$4.50· 10 = $45.00
