The slope intercept form of a line is highlight%28y=mx%2Bb%29, m=slope and (0,b)=y-intercept.
Write the equation of the line with slope 4 and y-intercept (0, –5). Then graph the line.
m=4 b=-5
highlight%28y=4x-5%29
To graph, plot the y-intercept (0,-5)
From that point use the slope to graph another point. Slope=rise%2Frun
m=4=4/1. Rise (go up) 4 and run (go right) 1, you should be at (1,-1). Plot another point there. Connect the points and you have a line:
