My question is how do I find the domain and range of the periodic function that is graphed for the problem? It does not give me the equation to the function.

For the domain, look for vertical asymptotes. If there are none, then the domain is all real numbers. If there are vertical asymptotes, then the domain is all real numbers except the x values at each vertical asymptote. Note: there may be an infinite number of vertical asymptotes. If so, then you will need to express this somehow. For example, let's say that all the vertical asymptotes are spaced 90 degrees apart and that there is one at 45 degrees. Then your domain would be all real numbers except 45 + 90n where "n" is an integer.

For the range look at the graph. Picture all the possible horizontal lines. Which ones would intersect your graph at least once? The y values for these horizontal lines are the range. If every possible horizontal line would intersect your graph somewhere, then the range would be all real numbers. If some horizontal lines would "miss" your graph (i.e. not intersect) then these y values would be the real number that are not in the range.
