Question 60854: To whom may it concern,
I have trouble to do this question.
To find the width of a river, a boy places a wooden peg at a point A on one side directly opposite an object B on the opposite bank. From A, he walks 50 m along the bank to a point C. He observes that the angle of ACB = 34°. Calculate the width of the river.
Please help and thank you.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! You can use the tangent function again!
A right tiangle is formed by the markers, A, B, and C
The distance across the river is represented by the height AB of this triangle while the base, segment AC = 50 metres.
Solve for segment AB. AC = 50 m.
The width of the river is 33.73 metres.
