Factor out the greatest common factor from the expression
6x^7 - 42x^6 - 42x^2

The GCF of the coefficients 6, -42, and -42 is 6

The GCF of the variable terms x^7, x^6 and x^2 is x^2


So the GCF of everything is 6x^2


Factor out the GCF to get

6x%5E7+-+42x%5E6+-+42x%5E2+=+6x%5E2%28x%5E5-7x%5E4-7%29
