You can
put this solution on YOUR website!
(x+y)^2 = (x+y)(x+y)
(x+y)^2 = x^2 + 2xy + y^2
(x+y)^2 = (x^2 + y^2) + 2(xy)
(x+y)^2 = a + 2(a-10)
(x+y)^2 = a + 2a-20
(x+y)^2 = 3a-20
