Solve for y

2y+4x=3

2y=3-4x

2y = -4x + 3

y = -4x/2 + 3/2

y = -2x + 3/2

The slope of the line is then m = -2

Any parallel line will have the same slope.

Hi
Using the standard slope-intercept form for an equation of a line y = mx + b where m is the slope and b the y-intercept.
2y+4x=3
2y = -4x+3
y = -2x + 3/2 |Pt(0,3/2) and Pt(1,-1/2) on this line
All lines with slope = -2 would be parallel

You do have to watch for identical lines (multiples) . They will also have a slope of two but won't be parallel. They will have an infinite number of solutions whereas parallel lines will have no solutions.
