Question 605581: Hi, I am doing a homework assignment and we are dealing with extraneous solutions. I am unfortunately stuck on a problem. I am working in a Glencoe McGraw-Hill California Algebra 1 textbook for 7th and 8th graders.
The instructions are:Solve each equation. State any extraneous solutions. I am on problem three which states: (x+2)/(x-2) - 2/x+2 = -7/3
I have tried so many times to solve this problem, but can't seem to get it right! Please reply ASAP, I would really appreciate it. Thank you ;)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Well, I worked it and got two roots, but neither is extraneous unless you have some other instruction somewhere that excludes some class of values for this problem.

What roots are you getting when you work the problem?
