Question 604904: This is for extra credit college algebra and I am having trouble with it. can you help, not solve?
My Grandfather, James, lived to be fairly old. His was considered to be a child for one-sixth of his life. He shaved after one-twelfth more. Grandpa married my grandmother after one-seventh more of his life, and five years later they had a son (Uncle Thomas). Uncle Thomas lived exactly one half as long as Grandpa. Then Grandpa died four years after Uncle Thomas passed.
How many years did my grandpa (James) live?
