You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Two cars leave town at the sime time traveling in opposite dirrections. One travels 70 mi/h and the other 55 mi/h. In how many hours will they be 250 miles apart?
apply the distance formula of d=rt
.
Let x = time (hours) traveled
then
70x + 55x = 250
125x = 250
x = 250/125
x = 2 hours
