You can
put this solution on YOUR website!
Line 1: 4y+x=3
4y = -x + 3
(divide all by 4)
y = -1/4 x + 3/4
the slope of this line is -1/4
Line 2: 2x+8y=5
8y = -2x + 5
(divide all by 8)
y = -2/8 x + 5/8
the slope of this line is -2/8 = -1/4
since line 1 and line 2 have the same slopes, the two lines are parallel
