Let y = no. of years for this to be true
:
y + 58 = 3(y+12)
y + 58 = 3y + 36
58 - 36 = 3y - y
22 = 2y
y = 22/2
y = 11 yrs for you to be 3 times as old as your grandaughter
then
your age: 58 + 11 = 69 yrs (daughter will be 23 yrs old)
