You can put this solution on YOUR website! Because all sides are equal length, we have 9x-4=2(3x+4), which expands to 9x-4=6x+8, which simplifies to 3x=12, which further simplifies to x=4. So, substituting into the first equations gives us 9*4-4, or 32 as the length of one side; that means all sides are 32 and the perimeter is 3*32, or 96.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! All three sides of the triangle have equal length. One side is 9x - 4 and another is 2(3x + 4). What is the perimeter?
First find x. If all sides are equal then:
9x-4=2(3x+4)
9x-4=6x+8
9x-6x-4=6x-6x+8
3x-4=0+8
3x-4=8
3x-4+4=8+4
3x=12
3x/3=12/3
x=4
That's what x is, substitute 4 in for x in either side.
The sides are each:
9(4)-4=36-4=32
For fun, try this with the other side and you should get 32 also.
You find the perimeter by adding all the sides together, there are three sides to a triangle:
