Question 601126: I am having trouble with some homework and need your help please. The question is:" What is the area of a triangle that measures 7cm on both sides,6cm for base and 6cm in height" I doesn't make sense to me, after all I'm only a sixth grader. The picture they provided for me has a doted line going from the middle up. Then its a regular Isosceles triangle. Please help because this homework is due tomorrow.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Technically, that triangle does not exist because a triangle with sides 6,7,7 would not have a height of 6. It also violates the Pythagorean theorem. So tell your teacher tomorrow that the question's screwed up.

If you simply applied the area of a triangle formula, you would obtain

(cm^2)
