Question 599500: sqrt(3) times (sqrt(6)-sqrt(8) is the problem, so far I have come up with
sqrt(18)-sqrt(24) which simplifies to sqrt(9)sqrt(2)-sqrt(4)sqrt(6) which then simplifies to 3sqrt(2)-2sqrt(6) but I can't get any further. Answer by w_parminder(53) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! You are doing it right but made a mistake in understanding the question
actually sqrt(3) is multiplied with sqrt(6) only and not with sqrt(8)
sqrt(3)*(sqrt(6)-sqrt(8)
=
which simplifies to
which is equal to
i.e. sqrt(2)
