Question 599386: I need help solving this problem:
A jet left the airport eight hours before a passenger plane. The planes flew in opposite directions. The passenger plane flew at 305 km/h for two hours. After this time the planes were 5310 km apart. What was the jet's speed.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! In 2 hours the passenger plane travels 305 into 2, i.e. 610 kilometers which implies that the jet plane has traveled 5310-610, i.e. 4700 kilometers in the ten hours that it has been flying. Therefore the jet's speed should be equal to 4700 by 10, i.e. 470 km per hour.
