You can put this solution on YOUR website! Find the coordinates of the point that lies three fourths of the way from
(10, -8) to (6, 0)
a) (8, -4) b) (9, -2) c) (7, -2) d) (9, -6)
-----------------------------------------------------
Let (x,y) be that point:
x = 10 + (3/4)(6-10) = 10 + (3/4)(-4) = 10-3 = 7
---
y = -8 + (3/4)(0-(-8)) = -8 + (3/4)(8) = -8+6 = -2
---
Ans: (7.-2)

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Hi, there--
.
One way to solve this problem is to find the midpoint between (10,-8) and (6,0). Then find the midpoint between THAT point and (6,0). [one-half plus one-half of one-half is 1/2 + 1/4 = 3/4.]
.
[I] Find midpoint from(10,-8) to(6,0) by using the Midpoint Formula.
.

.

.
The midpoint from (10,-8) to (6,0) is (8,-4).
.
[II] Find the midpoint from (8,-4) to (6,0).
.

.

.
The midpoint midway from (8,-4) to (6,0) to (7,-2).
.
The answer is C.
