SOLUTION: √3X+15=x+3 √3X+15^2=(x+3)^2 3x+15=(x+3)^2 3x+15=x^2+6x+9 -15 -15 3x=x^2+6x-6 -3x -3x 0=x^2+3x-6 having trouble factoring x^2+3x-6 thanks so much

Question 598397: √3X+15=x+3
√3X+15^2=(x+3)^2
3x+15=(x+3)^2
3x+15=x^2+6x+9
-15 -15
3x=x^2+6x-6
-3x -3x
0=x^2+3x-6
having trouble factoring x^2+3x-6
thanks so much

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Everything you did here looks right but;
x^2 + 3x - 6 = 0; will not factor, you have to use the quadratic formula;
solution would be x ~ -4.37 and x ~ +1.37, however only +1.37 would be a solution in the original problem
