Question 597575: I am trying to solve y=-8x+5 and the question reads find the slope if it exist. I tried plugging in zero for x but i cant seem to get the correct slope and i am not sure how to solve

You can put this solution on YOUR website! You are going about the problem the wrong way. In case you weren't sure, the formula for slope is y=mx+b. X is your slope. And B is your y-intercept. In the equation y=-8x+5, your slope would be wherever the x is; therefore, -8 would be your slope. You wouldn't write it as Slope=-8. You could, but sometimes, on tests, they could put the answer choice as -8/1. You would choose that one.
